Asset Monitoring and Property Cluster

Purpose of the role: The Mauritius Investment Corporation Ltd (MIC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a position in its Asset Monitoring and Property Cluster.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should hold at least an undergraduate degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration / Management / Law / Property Management / Project Management / Real Estate Management / Economics / Investment Management or a combination thereof from a recognised university. Any other relevant professional qualification may also be considered.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should have proven experience and strong knowledge in fields such as:

  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, risk management and project management.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, accounting software and financial reporting practices.
  • Knowledge of property development, construction, infrastructure projects and real estate asset management.
  • Knowledge of Mauritian law, banking and finance laws, commercial law, contract law, employment law, AML/CFT requirements, internal controls and compliance is desirable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and manage all land-related documentation, ensuring proper filing and payment of fees to authorities.
  • Collect, analyse, and report on land asset data and relevant market and regulatory developments.
  • Support land transactions, including due diligence, document review and stakeholder coordination.
  • Monitor performance of services providers (including security, cleaning and maintenance) and escalate any issues to Management.
  • Liaise with authorities, consultants, auditors, valuers and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support site visits, meetings and related activities.
  • Identify, record and support mitigation of risks (e.g. disputes, encroachments, title issues).
  • Conduct revenue projections and support cost-benefit and feasibility analysis.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports for the Board and its Committees.
  • Monitor land development projects, including timelines, budgets and performance.
  • Follow up on service level agreements for cleaning, security, landscaping and other related services.
  • Ensure the effective management of owned and leased properties and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate environmentally sustainable property management strategies while ensuring alignment with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles and standards.
  • Perform comparative market analysis and monitor real estate trends to pinpoint profitable opportunities.

TERMS AND REMUNERATION

The terms of appointment will be subject to completion of a satisfactory probationary period of one (1) year and commensurate with the qualifications, skills, competence, knowledge, and working experience of the selected candidate(s).
