ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE
(MIC/AE/01/24)

The MIC invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Executive.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate should hold:

  1. Cambridge Higher School Certificate with three (3) subjects at Principal Level at one and same sitting; and
  2. A degree in Management/ Accounting/ Banking/ Civil Engineering/ Economics/ Finance/ Investment/ Legal Studies, or any relevant equivalent qualification, acceptable to the MIC.

Relevant working experience would constitute an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities will be communicated to the incumbent on assumption of duty.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

With respect to the designated section the candidate will be posted, He/She should have at minimum, the following skillset:

  • Conversant with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Mauritian Law, banking and finance laws, commercial law, contract law, employment law, AML/CFT, internal control and compliance.
  • Knowledge in investment appraisal techniques, economic and financial analysis, legal risk management.
  • Understanding of domestic/international financial markets and products.
  • Experience in construction, building and infrastructural works.
  • Leadership and team management skills.

COMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS

The successful candidate should, inter alia:

  • possess good interpersonal and strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • be proactive and committed to continuous learning.
  • be able to coordinate a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • possess significant problem solving and analytical skills.
  • have high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • be able to work at odd hours when required.
