ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE – LEGAL

The Mauritius Investment Corporation Ltd ‘(MIC)’ invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Executive – Legal.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate should hold:

  1. Cambridge Higher School Certificate with three (3) subjects at Principal Level at one and same sitting; and
  2. A Law degree from a recognised university or any relevant equivalent qualification, acceptable to the MIC.
  3. Relevant working experience in the same field would constitute an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide assistance to the legal section:

  • To prepare and vet agreements, in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and client business requirements.
  • To provide legal assistance to other departments of the company, as and when instructed.
  • To ensure compliance with the company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
  • To liaise with stakeholders for the drafting of agreements
  • Perform such other cognate duties as may be assigned.

COMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS

The successful candidate should, inter alia:

  • demonstrate sound knowledge of Mauritian Law in general, the Code Civil Mauricien, banking and finance law, commercial law, contract law, employment law, AML/CFT laws, code of corporate governance.
  • possess good interpersonal and strong communication skills, both written and spoken and have good legal drafting skills.
  • have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and meet tight deadlines.
  • be able to coordinate a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
  • be able to work at odd hours when required.
  • possess significant problem solving and analytical skills.
  • have high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
